  13. FILES======================================================

  15. GSCRIPT.DOT -- the template containing all the macros and style
  16.     definitions for entering and formatting a screenplay.
  17.  
  18.     THIS FILE SHOULD BE IN YOUR DOT-PATH -- that is, in the
  19.     directory containing your other DOT files.
  20.  
  21. GSCRIPT.HLP -- a Windows Help file.
  22.  
  23.     THIS FILE SHOULD BE IN YOUR WINWORD DIRECTORY -- that is,
  24.     the same directory as that which contains WINWORD.EXE.
  25.  
  26. GSCRIPT.DOC -- a printable documentation file.  It contains macros
  27.     to demonstrate the workings of GSCRIPT and to print a 
  28.     registration form.
  29.  
  30.     THIS FILE SHOULD BE COPIED TO YOUR DOT-PATH.
  31.  
  32. GSDEMO.DOC -- a bogus screenplay used by GSCRIPT.DOC to demonstrate
  33.     the workings of GSCRIPT.  
  34.  
  35.     THIS FILE SHOULD ALSO BE IN YOUR DOT-PATH.

  37. README.TXT -- this file.  No need to retain it after you have
  38.     followed its instructions.
  39.  
  40. INSTALL.BAT -- a batch file to copy the necessary files to the
  41.   correct paths.
  42.  
  43.   Usage:  INSTALL [WINWORD PATH] [DOTPATH]
  44.  
  45.   Example:
  46.           INSTALL C:\WINWORD C:\WINWORD\DOT
  47.  
  48. Type INSTALL at the DOS prompt for istructions.
  49.  
  50. ADDENDUM TO THE DOCUMENTATION==================
  51.  
  52. There is a new ToolBar button (a question mark) at the far right.
  53. This will invoke the GSCRIPT.HLP file.  There is also an item on the
  54. Tools menu to run the help engine and load GSCRIPT.HLP.
  55.  
  56. Also added to the Tools Menu is an item called Scene Report.  This is
  57. a brand new macro that will take your screenplay and generate a report
  58. of the number of scenes, their length in approximate pages, and the
  59. page they begin.
  60.  
  61. SceneReport will automatically name the report file with an extension
  62. of RPT.  So, for instance, if your screenplay is named BOYSCOUT.DOC,
  63. the report file will be named BOYSCOUT.RPT.
  64.  
  65. SceneReport will work on files that have not yet been formatted with
  66. FormatScript.  All it requires is that every slugline be formatted
  67. with heading 3.
  68.  
  69. (If this seems complicated, it isn't.  After you read the
  70. documentation, this will make much more sense...)

  72. NOTES===========================================
  73.  
  74. The file GSCRIPT.DOC expands to 407Kb.  That's enormous.  It is this
  75. large not because there are that many words, but because it uses
  76. screen shots extensively to describe the various functions of GScript.
  77.  
  78. If you have any trouble loading or displaying this document (which
  79. *could* happen on some systems with low memory or low "resources")
  80. please try again and after opening the document toggle the view to
  81. Draft Mode and/or set PicturePlaceHolders to ON in the ToolsOptions
  82. View dialog box.

  84. CONVERSION OF GSCRIPT 1.X FILES=====================
  85.  
  86. Because Word for Windows didn't have an UpperCase style, GScript
  87. version 1.1 used "Small Caps" for the Character, Transition, and More
  88. styles.
  89.  
  90. If you attach the new GSCRIPT.DOT to a file created with GScript 1.x,
  91. you may find that your "more" string, which you want lower-case,
  92. appears as Upper Case.  This is because the style in the document has
  93. not been updated with the style definition in the new GSCRIPT.DOT.
  94.  
  95. To do so, select Style from the Format menu, click on Define.  Click
  96. on Merge, select GSCRIPT.DOT, click on From, and answer Yes to the
  97. prompt about over-writing current styles.
  98.  
  99. After the above, the styles in your document will match the styles as
  100. defined in the 2.0 version of GSCRIPT.DOT.
